English & Maths TuitionEnglish & Maths Tuition The Sheffield based English & Maths Tuition sessions are suitable for children aged from pre-school up to GCSE level. Children can follow either the English or maths route or both. Who might benefit? Any child might benefit from the additional opportunity to practice and consolidate their English/maths skills. This would include the dyslexic child, those looking to make up a little lost ground, those who simply want to perform to the best of their ability, children just starting out who want to hit the ground running and those who want to consolidate their skills and improve their confidence prior to SATs & GCSEs etc. Placement At the outset, children attend a free placement session. This will pinpoint the appropriate starting point for each child and ensure that the programme they enrol upon is appropriate for their needs. You and your child are not entering into any obligation at this point. We think it is only right to give you the opportunity to meet and work with us before making any further decisions. Where, when & how often? The English/maths tuition programmes are accessed during a weekly 40 minute session at our Sheffield office. There are slots available on various days of the week dependent upon the child's age. Sessions run at various start times between 3.40, & 6.00 to maximise opportunity and reduce the need to miss schooling. There are also sessions for all age groups on Saturday mornings (10.00, 10.40 & 11.20). Your only commitment is to one calendar month at any one time. We are aware that situations can often change quickly and unexpectedly and therefore have no desire to tie you into a long-term agreement. Mentoring Each child is asigned a personal mentor and we do our utmost to ensure that the child is with the same mentor week on week. At each session their will generally be only three or four children to ensure that a high quality of support is maintained. Homework The tuition received during the weekly session is supplemented by homework packs that are designed to fill any outstanding gaps in knowledge and core skills. This should require no more than 10 minutes or so on five days per week and due to it's nature i.e. small steps, the child will complete this work comfortably. How Much does all this cost? As previously stated, your only agreement & cost reflects the next block of calendar month sessions. Each calendar month costs £60 whether you are following the English or Maths route. Should you decide to follow both programmes, requiring one extended visit (60 minutes) per week, the cost is only £85 per month.
