English & Maths TuitionEnglish & Maths tuition at our Learn2 Study Centre in Sheffield Our weekly tuition service will be available from pre-school to GCSE & cost from only £15 per session We anticipate that this service will be ready to go by mid January 2008 To be kept informed of developments, register an interest or for further information, please contact us English & Maths Tuition The Sheffield based English & Maths Tuition sessions are suitable for children aged from pre-school up to GCSE level. Children can follow either the English or maths route or both. Who might benefit? Any child might benefit from the additional opportunity to practice and consolidate their literacy/maths skills. This would include those looking to make up a little lost ground, children who are looking to excell in a particular area, those who simply want to perform to the best of their ability, children just starting out who want to hit the ground running and those who want to consolidate their skills and improve their confidence prior to SATs & GCSEs etc. Placement At the outset, children attend a placement session. This will pinpoint the appropriate starting point for each child and ensure that the programme they follow is appropriate for their needs. Where, when & how often? The programmes are accessed during a weekly 40 minute session at our Sheffield office. There are slots available Monday to Friday from 4.00 to 7.00 to maximise opportunity and reduce the need to miss schooling. Your only commitment is to four sessions at any one time. We are aware that situations can often change quickly and unexpectedly and therefore have no desire to tie you into a long-term agreement. Mentoring Each child is asigned a personal mentor and we do our utmost to ensure that the child is with the same mentor week on week. At each session the mentor will generally be responsible for only four children to ensure that a high quality of support is maintained. Homework The tuition received during the weekly session is reinforced by homework packs that reflect the topics that they have been working on. This should require no more than 10 minutes or so on five days per week. Obviously, this aspect is not compulsory but it does help to consolidate skill and keep the child progressing at a steady rate. How Much does this cost? As previously stated, your only agreement & cost reflects the initial placement session and the next block of four sessions. The placement session has a one-off cost of £25. Following this, each block of four sessions costs £60 whether you are following the English or Maths route. That works out at only £15 per week. Should you decide to follow both programmes, requiring one extended visit (80 minutes) or two standard visits (40 minutes) per week, the placement session remains as a one-off cost of £25 followed by a combined cost of £96 equivalent to only £24 per week for both subjects.
